Board approves $1.1 million in summer facilities projects including asphalt, roof recoating and LED upgrades

The Lammersville Joint Unified board approved contracts for asphalt repairs ($598,475.20), roof recoating ($462,366.64) and LED lighting ($67,343), and authorized a $15,960 soil suitability study for a septic replacement at Lammersville Elementary, as part of a coordinated summer facilities plan.
The Lammersville Joint Unified School District board on May 21 approved a package of facilities contracts intended to be completed over the summer, including asphalt work, roof recoating, LED lighting and an engineering study for an on-site wastewater system.
Staff recommended and the board approved a contract with KYA Services to repair and replace asphalt at Lammersville Elementary for a total cost of $598,475.20. "1st is the asphalt project at Lammersville," Director LeGrand said while outlining summer work. Trustees voted to approve the contract 5–0.
The board also approved a $462,366.64 contract with KYA Services to recoat roofs at Wickland Elementary School; staff said the recoating will extend roof life by roughly 15 years and is less expensive than full replacement. For energy-efficiency upgrades, the board approved a $67,343 contract with RNC Residential and Commercial Lighting to install LED lighting at Wickland. Finally, the board authorized a $15,960 contract with Chesney Engineering to perform a soil suitability study and design parameters for an on-site wastewater treatment system at Lammersville Elementary — described by staff as the first step before construction. Each of these motions passed unanimously.
