The Town Board of Marlborough convened a formal question-and-answer session May 11, 2026 to give residents a chance to follow up on public hearings and raise community concerns directly with elected officials. Supervisor Scott Corcoran opened the meeting by asking participants to keep remarks cordial and said the forum would avoid political or active litigation questions.
"I want to keep this cordial. I don't want this to become a shouting match," Supervisor Corcoran said as he invited residents to come forward and asked speakers to state their full names for the stenographer. He also told the room that the Board would answer as many questions as possible and supply follow-up information when answers were not immediately available.
Corcoran framed the session as a regular, recurring outreach tool and said the Board may hold similar meetings in the future to improve transparency. The session included reports and citizen requests about private-property signage on Route 9W, persistent roadside litter, proposed farm-focused processes under Ag & Markets guidance, and a long public exchange over code-enforcement records obtained via FOIL.
The Board adjourned the Q&A after a heated exchange near the end of the session; Supervisor Corcoran moved to close the discussion and Councilman Appler seconded the motion. The Board recorded the time of adjournment as 9:03 p.m.
