Viborg council approves maintenance purchases, SDPAA contract and sets seasonal wages

Maintenance Superintendent Jody Nelsen received council approval to purchase equipment for lagoon maintenance; the council also discussed trading the backhoe for a mini excavator but tabled that trade to the April meeting pending more information. The maintenance purchase was approved during the meeting record.
Finance Officer Sean Gann reported on an upcoming delayed audit and received permission to attend HR and FO school in Oacoma June 9–13, 2026. The council approved an updated contract with the SDPAA and set wages for summer maintenance and summer recreation staff at $14.50 per hour, with the summer recreation coordinator set at $15.50 per hour. The council also set citywide clean-up dates for April 24–May 3 and scheduled the regular April meeting for April 13, 2026.
