During its Feb. 10 meeting the Viborg City Council discussed several maintenance and equipment items. Councilmembers raised the need to update police radio equipment in patrol vehicles and to replace lighting at the South 'Welcome to Viborg' sign and Veterans Park with LED fixtures. The minutes also record discussion of potential updates to the city's softball field.
Jody Nelsen, Maintenance Superintendent, reported on routine maintenance and said the front door of City Hall has been sticking; he told the council he will grind the door so it opens more smoothly. The council discussed summer maintenance and summer recreation positions and directed that job openings will be advertised in the newspaper; the minutes note recruitment will proceed but do not list pay rates or application deadlines.
