Madisonville CISD board approves multiple hires, accepts resignations and renews superintendent contract

After a closed executive session held under Government Code provisions for personnel and student discipline, the Madisonville CISD Board of Trustees approved a slate of employee recommendations and accepted several resignations. The board voted unanimously to approve contracted hires including Anna Hayden (high school science), Rebecca Garcia (elementary kindergarten) and Greg Brown (head band director); at-will hires included Jaleesa Burns (JH life-skills para), Latasha Byrd (elementary SPED para), Sabrena Ramos (elementary PPCD para), Ana Camarena (elementary child nutrition worker) and Melvina Issac (intermediate inclusion para).
Board action also acknowledged several retirements and resignations: Stephanie Schmidt (Head Band Director; retiring), Annette Bingham (Kindergarten Teacher; retired), Shelli Sheppard (High School Principal; retiring) and Fred Schmidt (HS receptionist; retiring). The motion to approve the recommendations was made by Dr. Jason Cleere and seconded by Quincy Allen and carried unanimously after the board reconvened at 9:41 PM.
