Students showcase TED‑Ed, ASB and HOSA activities to Lammersville board

Students and student leaders highlighted extracurricular learning and community engagement during the Lammersville Joint Unified School District board meeting on April 16.
Shasta, speaking for Costa ASB, described events the student body organized this year — a homecoming float, a trunk‑or‑treat carnival, Red Ribbon Week and a Kindness Week — and said ASB teaches leadership and public speaking. "ASB stands for Associated Student Body, which is also another name for leadership," she said, adding that the program teaches students to cooperate, plan events and present to peers.
HOSA chapter president Anrita Naranjan recapped the chapter’s first year, citing the fall leadership conference (November 2024), regional competitions and qualification for the state leadership conference; chapter members also raised $1,170 for the National Marrow Donor Program through community outreach. "Together we raised $1,170 for NMDP," she said.
Students who participated in the district’s 2025 TED‑Ed event described a student‑led production supported by high‑school media students and speech coaches; presenters said weekly workshops, practice sessions and mini‑workshops helped improve delivery and confidence. The students thanked coordinators and district staff for support and noted that GATE students presented passion projects with strong participation across the district.
The board thanked the students and wished district teams luck at upcoming conferences and events.
