Director LeGrand delivered the district maintenance and operations report, detailing current facilities work and near-term projects.
LeGrand said staff have repaired a cracked heat exchanger in "Boiler Number 1" but the second boiler needs parts that must be sourced from the manufacturer and could take a couple of weeks to arrive. "We repaired the crack heat exchanger in Boulder Number 1," he said, adding that despite the boiler issues "the kids are still swimming." LeGrand also reported a missing gasket for a newly delivered playground part, classroom construction delays due to supply issues, and that the kitchen project is complete except for a custom sneeze guard being fabricated.
He outlined summer project planning including asphalt work at Lamersville, septic tank replacement, roof coating and exterior painting at Wickland, and upgrades to a building formerly used by a Montessori program. Trustees asked whether swim practices or meets had been affected; LeGrand said they were not. The board received the report as informational and discussed scheduling for follow-up approvals related to capital projects.
