Marlborough wins $100,000 grant for Community Center solar; board explores EV charging with school

Supervisor Corcoran told the Town Board on Sept. 9 that the town received a $100,000 grant to install solar panels on the Marlborough Community Center. He also said the town will work with the school district on applying for a separate grant to install electric-vehicle charging stations at Town Hall.
Mici Simonofsky, chair of the town's Climate Action Committee, thanked the board "for getting the grant for solar at the Community Center" and asked whether the DPW garage roof could support solar. Corcoran replied that the DPW roof "may not be able to accommodate solar but a stand alone unit may work." Simonofsky offered the CAC's help with grant applications and suggested the CAC be allowed to advertise town updates on its website to help publicize projects.
