Marlborough police receive grant for body cameras, LPR cameras, drones and speed trailer

Police Chief Gerald Cocozza told the Town Board on Sept. 9 that the Marlborough Police Department received a grant providing ten new body cameras, one speed trailer, two license-plate-recognition cameras and three drones. "The drones have a four year warranty and they typically last for five years," Cocozza said, and he added that Hudson Valley Drones is training officers to operate them.
Cocozza said the department currently has one certified drone pilot on staff and is working with Central Hudson to install the LPR cameras in town. The board later updated the town's fixed-asset useful-life schedule to list drones at five years/60 months in Resolution #72.
