Temporary Alcohol Licenses Approved for Three Community Events at Torpy Park

The Minocqua Board approved temporary alcohol beverage licenses for the Minocqua Kawaguesaga Lakes Protection Association Pig Roast (Sept. 5), the Lakeland Noon Rotary Dragon Boat Festival (Aug. 14–15), and the Minocqua Lions Club Beef-A-Rama (Sept. 26) at Torpy Park; clerks reported each application was in compliance.
The Minocqua Board on June 21 approved three temporary alcohol beverage licenses for community events at Torpy Park: the Minocqua Kawaguesaga Lakes Protection Association’s Pig Roast on Sept. 5, the Lakeland Noon Rotary’s Dragon Boat Festival on Aug. 14–15, and the Minocqua Lions Club’s Beef-A-Rama on Sept. 26. Chairman Mark Hartzheim noted Clerk Roben Haggart reported "all is in compliance" for each application.
Each motion to approve the temporary licenses was made by Supervisor Brian Fricke and seconded by Supervisor Erika Petersen; the board approved all three licenses by voice vote. The approvals allow event organizers to serve alcohol on the stated dates at Torpy Park provided they meet any remaining permitting or safety requirements.
Why it matters: these approvals enable several large community gatherings that typically attract residents and visitors; organizers and vendors must ensure continued compliance with licensing and safety requirements leading up to each event.
