The Goose Creek City Council approved on second and final reading an ordinance authorizing the city to enter an installment-purchase transaction to fund construction, reconstruction, acquisition, installation, renovation and equipping of hospitality and public safety facilities, including a joint police and fire training facility.
Mayor (speaker 1) described the transaction as "an installment purchase revenue bond essentially to build our police and fire joint training facility." The ordinance delegates authority to the mayor and city administrator to execute the required documents, approves issuance of bonds by the Goose Creek Municipal Finance Corporation, and amends the FY2026 budget to provide for the transaction. Council moved, seconded and approved the ordinance by voice vote.
