Chief Adam Davenport presented the police report for April, noting the department handled 63 reportable events and that a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) issue had skewed numbers but was repaired. He also described training opportunities the department hopes to host locally and school outreach activities.
"The Kirkland Police handled sixty-three reportable events; this number is skewed due to a CAD issue in Chief's vehicle but has since been repaired," Davenport reported. Trustees approved purchase of a new copier/scanner/fax/printer for the police station after discussion of leasing versus purchase; the motion passed by roll call. Chief Davenport also raised safety concerns at the intersection of N 5th and Railroad Street and the board asked Village Attorney Matthew Walter to prepare an ordinance to authorize the traffic-control device(s) the chief recommended.
