Planning commission recommends 2026 uniform plat submittal schedule to City Council
Summary
The Bastrop Planning & Zoning Commission recommended that City Council adopt the 2026 uniform submittal dates for plats under the Bastrop code and move the schedule to the Jan. 13, 2026 council meeting for first reading; no members of the public spoke at the hearing and the recommendation passed 5–0 on roll call.
A planning commissioner moved that the commission recommend City Council approve the 2026 schedule of uniform submittal dates for plats as shown in Exhibit A, citing Bastrop Building Block code section 2.3.0.004 and the technical manual section 1.2.0.002; the motion was seconded and passed on a roll call of five "yes" votes (Heather Green, Keith Auburn, Gary Moss, Jordan Scott and David Barrow).
Staff explained the schedule is an annual administrative timeline the city uses to align plat submittals with state timelines and Council meetings. A staff member said the schedule follows state requirements for consistent submittal and review windows and that the item is standard annual business for the commission. No members of the public signed up to speak during the public hearing.
The commission’s recommendation will be placed on the City Council agenda for a first reading on Jan. 13, 2026. The motion on the record was: “recommend the City Council approve the 2026 schedule of uniform submittal dates for plats in accordance with the B3 code section 2.3.0.004 and technical manual section 1.2.0.002 as shown in Exhibit A and move to include on the 01/13/2026 City Council meeting for the 1st reading.”
