County dispatch reports 11,209 911 calls and 116,000 nonemergency calls in 2025

Moody reported the 911 center handled 11,209 emergency calls and about 116,000 nonemergency phone calls during the year; he noted that text-to-911 capability has been used, with 108 text-originated calls recorded. "Nonemergency phone calls. They had a 116,000 nonemergency phone calls. There were 11,209 911 calls. And, surprisingly, I thought this was kinda neat. A 108 were from a text," he said.
Moody also gave run totals for response categories: 5,553 EMS runs and 23,791 police calls, with the sheriff’s office handling 14,935 of the police calls; combined, the county recorded 38,689 total public-safety calls for the year. Commissioners discussed staffing and training items in follow-up remarks and noted upcoming 911 simulator training scheduled at a finance meeting later that afternoon.
