City reports completion of major water projects; council holds executive session on real property

City Administrator Bryant Morris updated the council on several infrastructure projects at the May 12 meeting. He reported the US 175 and Veterans Elevated Storage Tank project began July 17, 2024 and was completed on October 10, 2025 at a cost of $5,905,510.00. The '198 Sewer' project began January 28, 2025 and was completed on August 26, 2025. Morris also said work continues at the Water Treatment Plant and that activity at the city pavilion remains ongoing.
Later in the meeting, the council convened an executive session under Texas Government Code §551.072 at 8:11 p.m. to deliberate real property matters and reconvened in open session at 9:56 p.m.; the minutes record that no action on real property matters was taken when the council returned to open session.
Morris also thanked volunteers for a recent Angel League event and noted the city provided food and commemorative rings to players with help from Simmons Bank and the Kiwanis Club.
