The Zoning Board granted a variance on Aug. 11 allowing a detached 120-square-foot shed at 568 South Main Street, raising the accessory-use area permitted from 40% to 50.8% of finished home area.
Kelsey Deliani said the house is modest (just under 1,500 square feet) on a roughly 0.7-acre lot and the freestanding storage structure would not be visible from the street because of existing trees. Board members called the request typical for similarly sized lots and approved the variance following a short deliberation.
The board recorded that the applicant had consulted adjacent neighbors and had a letter documenting support or changed concern into support; the decision allows the applicant to proceed with permitting under the normal building-permit rules.
