The Tisbury Council on Aging heard an update Feb. 19 from Director Catie Blake that the center's solar panel installation is nearing completion and is expected to finish within a week. Blake said excess energy from the system will feed back into the town grid and reduce the Center's electric bill.
Blake told members that the roof-over-deck project drawings are being revised after the designer observed the solar panel placement; engineers advised consulting the town building inspector before finalizing plans. The meeting notes also record that a person named Kirk plans to widen the driveway in spring, and members discussed coordinating exterior work to avoid conflicts with the solar installation.
