Liletta, founder of the nonprofit Business Crossing Network (BCN), asked the Manassas Park Economic Development Authority to partner with BCN to list local businesses in a directory, host free workshops and provide modest seed sponsorship for six businesses’ memberships. She described BCN’s services — a directory, a quarterly magazine, training and one-on-one needs assessments — and said the organization aims to give small businesses visibility and practical assistance.
During a lengthy Q&A board members asked whether the website functions like a Yelp profile (BCN confirmed profiles, features and newsletter updates), how BCN would measure success (attendance, pivot-table tracking of members and milestones), and whether BCN has multilingual outreach. BCN said it does, noting Spanish, Arabic and Haitian Creole capacity. BCN requested seed sponsorship covering six memberships as an initial city/EDA investment; board members indicated interest but did not take a formal vote and asked staff to continue refining the proposal.
