Tisbury COA solar panels nearing completion; expected to cut center's power costs

The Tisbury Council on Aging heard an update Feb. 19 that its rooftop solar-panel installation is nearly finished. Director Catie Blake told members the work is "nearing completion; expected to finish within a week," and that the panels are intended to reduce the center's electricity costs and feed excess power back into the town grid.
The installation is part of the center's efforts to lower operating costs and increase sustainability. Blake said the project will alter how the facility manages energy expenses going forward; the center will monitor usage statistics requested by the Finance Committee to measure savings.
