The Finance Committee approved a $300,000 amendment to the 2026 Planning budget to recognize additional Septic System Replacement funds awarded under the Clean Water Infrastructure Act. The program is designed to reduce environmental and public health impacts of effluent discharges to groundwater and to support repairs or replacements of septic systems in stressed watersheds.
The motion to add the $300,000 to the 2026 budget was moved by Mr. O’Brien, seconded by Mr. Hall, and adopted. The Treasurer will record the state aid under the appropriate revenue code and the funds will be used to assist homeowners with cesspool replacement or septic repairs.
