I should be able to make enough money to support my own self," she said. Commissioners from across the dais expressed support and noted that the county's living-wage floor and contracting standards set a local example.
The resolution passed by the court urges the hotel operator to negotiate in good faith and commends workers for their organizing. Several commissioners described decisions to move public events away from the hotel in solidarity and reaffirmed county living-wage commitments for employees and contractor standards.
