Precautionary high-school evacuation prompts praise for staff; district to ban the item tied to odor

That process went very smoothly," the chair said, thanking principals Przemzano, Cummings and Gleeson, assistant principals Finley, Mendonis and Balud, and transportation lead Castell Stone for their roles.
During the superintendent's presentation the cause of the odor that prompted the precaution was identified in the meeting record as "Doreen fruit," which the superintendent said "was the cause of the odor that was in our school" and noted some public‑venue bans on that item. The superintendent said the district "will not be allowing Doreen fruit in our school in the future" and that a related policy will be developed.
The chair also thanked First Student for quickly coordinating buses to be available as a precaution. No public comments or votes were taken on the evacuation or the forthcoming policy at this meeting.
