The Town of Johnsburg board took a series of largely uncontroversial votes on Sept. 16. Highlights include:
- Cemetery marker: The board adopted a resolution to place a historical (Pomeroy) marker honoring Revolutionary War veteran Abram Glucia at Webertown Cemetery along Route 28.
- Procurement: Resolutions to advertise bids for heating fuel and propane were adopted; both bid openings are scheduled for Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. at Town Hall. The board also approved a state‑contract tire purchase for highway tandem trucks.
- Appointments and administrative: The board accepted the highway department inventory list and appointed Beth Marr, M.D., as town health officer for the remainder of 2025. It also authorized opening a separate bank account to receive a $2,500 LinkedIn Learning refund for the library.
- Finance: To avoid late fees the board authorized a prepayment for a Home Depot charge that would otherwise incur finance charges if not paid by Sept. 30.
Most of the resolutions were moved, seconded and adopted by voice vote during the meeting. One personnel hiring resolution (MEO for highway) was tabled to require a candidate name.
