Town staff updated the board on public-property and construction activity behind Town Hall, saying contaminated soil had been removed and the final tank was installed as part of the project tied to Holden Hall and sewer work.
"Just today, all the contaminated soil was removed. The last tank was put in place and the welder has got a spotlight on outside welding as we speak right now," a board member said, and added that a construction coordination meeting was scheduled for the next morning. The member noted that two sections of piping emptying from the tanks were damaged en route and need to be reordered, which creates a construction wrinkle but does not stop ongoing work.
Staff also reviewed recent community programming and upcoming holiday events: a community line-dancing afternoon in October with 40 attendees, a K–3 soccer program with 26 children, a youth Homecoming Masquerade with about 75 students from local schools, and a trunk-or-treat event with roughly 300 participants. Johnsburg's Lights On weekend was announced for Dec. 5–7 with tree lighting and parades on Dec. 5 and 6, and a breakfast with Santa on Dec. 7 at the North Creek Firehouse.
