The Town Board of Johnsburg approved several library-related items on Sept. 16, including creating a separate bank account to receive a $2,500 LinkedIn Learning refund and taking procedural steps to advertise and ratify trustees.
Chair explained that the library purchased LinkedIn Learning but has been unable to implement it and that LinkedIn will refund $2,500 only via wire transfer; following advice from Community Bank, the board approved opening a separate account to receive the credit for safety. "LinkedIn is willing to refund $2,500 but will only do so via wire transfer," the Chair said during the discussion.
The board also approved a resolution to advertise two openings on the Johnsburg Library Board of Trustees, noting the town’s role in advertising and appointing trustees, and later retroactively ratified the appointments of several trustees to correct earlier procedural omissions so their past actions and votes are formally ratified. The trustees will take oaths of office with the town clerk, and terms were discussed as three‑year rotations.
Board members asked staff to provide clearer appointment dates and to ensure future trustee appointments and reappointments follow an updated tracking and notification process.
