Milner described growing demand: the center fed 53 children this summer (up from 40 last year) and, through regular pantry distributions, provides meals for "about 350 people a month." She told the board the center's backpack and meal programs served thousands of meals last year and asked that the board consider the funding increase at the start of budget season.
Chair acknowledged the request and staff indicated the supervisors' reports in the packet; board members welcomed the presentation and thanked Milner for the update. The board did not take an immediate vote on funding during the meeting; Milner said the request was being submitted early so it could be considered during the 2026 budget process.
