The Town of Jonesburg board unanimously approved a resolution allowing camping at Skee Bowl for the Unified Cycling/Upper Hudson Trails bike race scheduled for Aug. 15–17. Chair (speaker 1) read the resolution and the motion was seconded and approved. The board clarified that vendor permits (including food or alcohol) and occupancy-tax handling are separate processes and not covered by this camping authorization.
Committee member (speaker 5) said organizers were "hoping to have, close to a 100" participants but that not all attendees would camp. He added that "Unify Cycling is not going to be profiting from this race" and that "all proceeds will be donated to the Upper Hudson Trail Alliance" to support local trail development. Several board members asked staff to review camping regulations and report back with recommended changes to simplify permitting for future events.
