Committee hears update on Maynard Power Choice aggregation and possible stabilization-account warrant article

Chair Jillian Prendergast updated the committee on the town’s Maynard Power Choice community aggregation. She displayed rate comparisons and told members Eversource’s residential supply rate for the August–January period was about 17+ cents per kilowatt-hour while the town’s standard aggregation option remains competitive for most residents; residents are automatically enrolled in the standard plan with the ability to opt out or choose alternative tiers.

One member encouraged broader outreach, saying: "We should tout this a lot." The chair also noted the warrant may include a proposal to create a stabilization or operational account for the aggregation program; the committee will review a draft article if it is submitted.
