Commissioner Stoffield updated the commission that the White House EMS station had been closed after an issue with mold in the building. "It's got mold," Commissioner Stoffield said, describing why the White House closed the building and the county's emergency relocation steps.
Staff moved EMS equipment and personnel into the training room at the fire hall off 31W, and the county purchased temporary furniture from a local supplier to get crews operational. Stoffield said the relocation was temporary and the county does not yet know how long crews will remain in the training room while officials seek a permanent placement or remediation.
Commissioners discussed whether neighboring jurisdictions or boards might assist with facilities and reiterated that the EMS committee is continuing to evaluate options. No immediate funding decision for a permanent facility was made during this meeting.
