Officials announce Windom EDA director hire, election schedule and local program updates

Commissioner Donna Gravley summarized United Community Action Partnership (UCAP) work in Cottonwood County for the past year. Chairman Tom Appel relayed several community items: a $750 donation to the Mountain Lake Food Shelf, an energy meeting in Westbrook that evening regarding battery storage in Ann Township, a Fair Board request to use the Quonset building for storage during the county fair, and notice that bids have come in for Cottonwood-Brown JD #24 with a related meeting scheduled for Aug. 4 before the regular board meeting. Appel also gave a brief synopsis of a public meeting held in Mountain Lake on July 20 about a proposed data center.
