Highway and town staff described a shortage of secure storage for snowplows and other large equipment and outlined options including leasing a newer building on Main Street or exploring a California Road lease as an interim solution.
Staff said one available newer building would meet dimensions similar to the town’s current leased facility, while an older brick building had lower ceilings and would not accommodate larger vehicles. "I think the newer of the buildings would work perfectly and is essentially a clone of the building that we have our equipment in right now," one staff speaker said (S7). Board members agreed to pursue short-term leasing while evaluating long-term needs and to bring back cost comparisons before the next winter season.
