Town appoints three part‑time staff including new dog control officer

The Orchard Park Town Board approved three personnel appointments during its Aug. 20 meeting, filling part‑time openings across the Community Activity Center, maintenance department and animal control.
A resolution appointed Oakley Adams as part‑time evening and weekend event support staff at the Community Activity Center at $16.50 an hour with a $0.50 hourly increase after six months; employment is effective Aug. 22, 2025, per the Community Activity Center coordinator's recommendation. The board also approved the hiring of Mark Young as a part‑time maintenance caretaker at $17 an hour for 12–15 hours per week, with the appointment to begin Aug. 25, 2025.
On the recommendation of the chief of police, the board appointed Paul Scalise to the nonunion, part‑time, probationary dog control officer role effective August 2025 at $23.46 an hour. Each motion was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
Board members welcomed the new appointees during the meeting and thanked staff who participated in recruitment and coordination.
