Meadows Place City Council reviewed preliminary invoices and supporting documents from the City of Stafford related to a proposed interlocal cooperation agreement for firefighting, fire protection and fire investigation services. City Administrator Nick Haby and Finance Director Anna-Maria Weston presented the documents and outlined areas of concern, including maintenance responsibilities for the Fire Station, the volume of calls and the allocation of costs under a new agreement.
Council members and staff discussed the need for clearer terms in any new interlocal agreement and focused on how recurring maintenance costs and call-by-call charges would be handled. After discussion the council reached consensus to send a formal letter to the City of Stafford City Council, the Stafford chief financial officer and the Stafford fire chief asking for clarification on the invoices and proposing follow-up negotiation or revision of the agreement. No formal motion or vote was recorded in the minutes.
