Meadows Place council accepts clean audit for FY2024–25

Meadows Place council voted unanimously Feb. 24 to accept the Auditor’s Financial Report for fiscal year 2024–25 after a presentation from Crowe LLP.
Robert Belk, CPA, and Alan Lawrence, CPA, told council they had issued “a clean unmodified opinion of the City’s financial statements,” the highest level of assurance an auditor can give. Alderman David Mertins moved to accept the report and Alderman Kurt Kopczynski seconded; the motion passed with all members voting aye (Aldermen Mertins, Baker, Staigle, Kopczynski and Merkley). The audit presentation and vote occurred during the meeting opening and is recorded in the council minutes.
The council did not attach conditions to acceptance. The auditors thanked city staff for their cooperation during the engagement. No follow-up directives or formal follow-up tasks were recorded in the minutes.
