City staff told the council that the sewer plant originally budgeted $35,000 for camera software, but with price increases and staff choosing not to purchase that software they proposed moving $25,000 of the funds to buy three sludge pumps this year.
"So now he would like to move 25,000 of that, to purchase 3 sludge pumps and get that done in this year instead of having to put the sludge pumps in next year," the department representative said. Council moved, seconded and approved a resolution to accept the quote and amend the budget so the pumps can be purchased in the current fiscal year.
The change was presented as a budget-management decision to prioritize equipment needs at the sewer plant. Staff did not provide vendor names or final purchase orders in the meeting; the authorization allows staff to finalize procurement under the approved budget amendment.
