The Olney City Council voted to authorize staff to advertise a request for proposals to acquire a 5.06-acre parcel of city-owned real estate, the chair said after a motion and voice vote. A council member who introduced the discussion described the tract, said he had listed the property tax ID, and asked the body when bids should be due and opened.
"So my really, my biggest question is when do you want to have, you know, have the bids due and bids open?" the council member asked. He noted the usual practice of allowing at least 15 days' notice once the advertisement appears in the paper, which would align a bid deadline with the council's next regular meeting on Sept. 22 if the ad runs this week. The council moved and approved the authorization by voice vote.
