Operations supervisor details water, sewer, road and equipment work; staff picked up signs in ROWs

Operations Supervisor Gus Pardo presented the meeting's daily operations report, which documents maintenance and repair work performed around Mertzon on or before Jan. 26. Water work included installing fence panels around Loyes well #4, cleaning Hydrous Manganese Oxide (H.M.O.), filling chlorine barrels at the water plant, replacing a pumping motor at Loyes well #4 and setting a new generator at the stand pipe. The report records that staff "Re-sealed well heads," "Replaced mesh screen on well vents" and went through a water inspection with TCEQ.
Wastewater work listed in the report includes filling chlorine barrels at the WWTP, completing a sewer line that crossed 3rd St for the school and installing a sewer line that runs east-west on Juanita for the school. Road work included filling potholes on Fayette, 3rd St sewer line road cut and 5th St and placing a 20MPH sign at Fleming and 5th St at the sheriff's request. Miscellaneous entries note staff picked up a dead cat and a deer, hauled dirt from the school to the old effluent pond, and "Picked up signs in all the ROWs and also picked up the N. Broadway christmas candy cane lights that fell off the power poles."
