Resident urges transparency in property-assessment process during public comment

Supervisor (S2) said he previously asked the assessor to publish the assessment process online and would follow up to ensure the information is available; DeSolo requested a public meeting or an assessor presentation so residents can better understand valuation methods and any differences between comparable properties.
"We seem to be working with a kind of a mysterious non transparent assessment process here," DeSolo said, urging the town to post explanatory materials and consider a public explanation by the assessor. The board agreed to follow up.
