Consultant invites HRC to partner on Oct. 12 American Discovery Trail relay through Lansing

John Wilson, a consultant for the Village of Lansing, briefed the commission during public comment on plans from the American Discovery Trail Society committee to close a gap to the Pennsy Greenway–Northwest Trail and create a designated Trail Town.
Wilson invited the HRC to partner in a 250-mile relay that will pass through Lansing on Oct. 12 at 186th Street & Wentworth Ave. He said School District 158’s bike club, local elected officials and other partners are expected to participate; the ADTS committee will seek a student to read the Declaration of Independence at the event.
Wilson framed the presentation as an invitation to collaborate on community engagement and promotion; commissioners were asked to consider partnership and will address details at a future meeting.
