Commissioner Henry Hubnik moved to approve the proposed 2025 budget, which increases property tax revenue by $637,199.08 — a 3.7535402% rise from last year; the motion passed 3–2 with Commissioners Whitmire, Hubnik and Denman voting for and Commissioners Neal and Payne voting against.
The court also set the maintenance-and-operations tax rate (M&O) at $0.489133 per $100, the interest-and-sinking (I&S) rate at $0.052867 per $100 and the total tax rate at $0.542000 per $100. Motions to set those rates were made and seconded and carried unanimously; the total-rate action was taken as provided under Texas Tax Code Section 26.05(b). The court record shows the budget discussion was limited in the minutes; no amendments to line-item allocations were recorded at the meeting.
