Board approves $2.5M in recommended Measure AA one-time projects and appropriations for FY27

The Monterey County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution authorizing appropriations for Measure AA projects in fiscal year 2026–27 after staff summarized revenue and proposed one-time funding requests.
Trent Hill, principal administrative analyst, told the board that the county had received $28,600,000 in Measure AA revenue to date and budgeted an additional $25,000,000 in anticipated FY27 revenue, bringing projected Measure AA revenue to $53,600,000 by the end of FY27. Hill reported that the county had allocated $32,200,000 so far, with an allocation mix of roughly 36% for ongoing costs, 47% for roads projects and 18% for one-time investments.
Hill said the Measure AA Committee recommended approximately $2,500,000 of new one-time requests selected from 56 projects that represented roughly $25,000,000 in total proposed costs; the recommended list spans libraries, capital projects, parks, water resources and homelessness initiatives. Supervisors asked that staff provide the full list of submitted projects and unselected proposals to ensure transparency about what was considered and what remains in the queue.
After discussion about district distribution and project visibility, the board voted unanimously to approve the appropriations and directed staff to return with a more complete listing of department proposals and a status/queue for future consideration.
