Meadows Place sets May 2 election for mayor and three aldermanic seats

Meadows Place City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2026-02 on Jan. 27 ordering a general election to be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 for the offices of Mayor and Alderman Places 1, 2 and 3.
The ordinance provides for early voting and authorizes the Mayor and/or City Secretary to enter into a Joint Election Agreement with Fort Bend County to conduct the general municipal election on the city’s behalf. Alderman Emily Merkley moved approval and Alderman Kurt Kopczynski seconded; the vote was unanimous.
The minutes note that four council positions are up for re-election and staff will proceed with the joint election arrangement with Fort Bend County per the ordinance.
