Hollywood City board delays agenda item after notice posting error

City staff asked the Hollywood City board to continue a scheduled agenda item after discovering the item had not been posted on the city's physical sunshine board, a requirement in the local code. A staff representative told the board the notice had been published in the newspaper and posted online but was not physically posted outside the city clerk's office.
Farosha Andashva, the board's advisory attorney, recommended continuing the item so the full record — staff presentation, public comment and board deliberation — can be created at one hearing rather than piecemeal. "Because the notice for tonight is incomplete, the cleaner course is to continue on that basis and present the item in full at the continued hearing when the notice is complete," Andashva said.
City staff said the omission is curable and requested a time-and-date-certain continuation; staff also told the board it would upload a virtual version of the presentation to the City of Hollywood website within 24 hours so members of the public can review the material before the continued hearing. The Chair acknowledged the request and, after discussion of timing and procedure, moved forward with plans to continue the item and to set a specific continued date for notice and public access.
