At the July 27 meeting the Otsego City Council approved a consent agenda that included claims, minutes from July 13, project pay applications (including Pay Application #5 final for Odean Avenue Watermain & PRV), authorization of special inspection services for Wellhouse No. 3 water treatment, a temporary on-sale liquor license for the Otsego Lion's Club, Resolution 2026-54 (Interim Use Permit for Hemple Properties), hiring for a utility billing position, Pay Application #1 for the 2026 Mill & Overlay project, authorization to prepare bids and pre-procure for Greenway Trail projects, acceptance of a city mechanic’s resignation, approval to purchase a tandem axle dump truck, and Resolution 2026-55 approving sewer connection for 5886 Rawlings Ave. The consent agenda was approved as amended 5-0.
Separately, the council scheduled two special meetings for Aug. 10 and Aug. 24, 2026, at 5:30 PM to review the 2027 budgets and approved a Purchase of Services contract with Wright County Community Action, joining Monticello and Buffalo in a pooled approach rather than each city developing its own program. City Administrator/Finance Director Adam Flaherty noted the small funds involved and recommended pooling resources. The Wright County Community Action contract passed 5-0.
