Levelland City Council voted to approve Ordinance 1092 on first reading, changing the zoning classification of multiple parcels along East Highway 114 from Industrial to B-2 Business District. The ordinance amends Ordinance 635 (Article 9.500) and the city’s zoning map as set out in §9.504.
City staff explained the rezoning is intended "to entice more commercial business to that area" by removing industrial-only restrictions that can deter general commercial buyers. The public hearing opened at 6:07 p.m. and closed at 6:14 p.m. with no recorded formal objections in the transcript. The motion to adopt Ordinance 1092 was made by Council Member Michael Stueart, seconded by Bill Powell, and carried unanimously. The ordinance will update the zoning map for the parcels listed in the council packet.
