Notable items: Levelland Listens will be held Friday, March 7, 7:30–8:30 a.m. at Northside Church of Christ (530 W. Monroe). Southern Cotton Oil (AMD) appealed a 2024 inventory, supplies and spare parts assessment to the Hockley County Appraisal District; the Appraisal Review Board denied the appeal and the matter is now moving toward court. The city’s leadership team is reviewing revisions to the Employee Handbook for Council consideration on April 7. The Texas Municipal League Legislative Action Day is March 19 in Austin; the city has a meeting scheduled with Senator Perry and is attempting to schedule with Representative King. Spring Cleanup runs March 14–28 with rolloffs set out March 14. LEDC received a Certificate of Achievement from the Texas Economic Development Council for 2024. The next City Council meeting is Monday, March 17.
