The City Council approved a Conditional Use Permit and Ordinance No. 5225 to allow a coin-operated amusement game room at 5550 South Buckner Boulevard within a Peter Piper Pizza tenant space. Adam Bailey said the proposed game room would include approximately 50 interactive and skill-based amusement machines and would operate daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Alcohol sales will not be included as part of the use. Applicant Karl Crawley said the concept is owned by CEC Entertainment, Inc., and would provide family-friendly entertainment complementary to surrounding retail.
Councilmember Kenny Green moved to approve the CUP and ordinance; Councilmember Andrew Hubacek seconded and the vote was unanimous. The ordinance includes a stipulation that the CUP is limited to Peter Piper Pizza as the primary use, and the records show no public opposition during the hearing.
