Council OKs Haute Trash Thrift to open used-goods retail store at 3129 I‑30 (Ordinance 5224)

The City Council approved a Conditional Use Permit and Ordinance No. 5224 to allow Hot Trash Junk Removal, LLC, dba Haute Trash Thrift, to operate a used merchandise retail store at 3129 Interstate 30, Unit H. Adam Bailey explained the zoning requirement for used merchandise stores and said the CUP includes stipulations to address site appearance and organization. The CUP was limited to the applicant and approved with stipulations recommended by Planning and Zoning.
Owner Jessica Rivera told the Council the business grew from a family-owned junk removal operation and sources inventory through home and storage cleanouts; she said clothes are hand-selected and listed brands including "Madewell, Nike, Adidas, Coach, Christian Dior and Free People." Rivera said the store will not accept donations and will operate Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Council approved the ordinance on a motion by Kenny Green, seconded by Brandon Murden, unanimously.
