On first reading April 7, Levelland City Council approved proposed amendments to Chapter 12, Section 12.203 Prohibitions, to update park rules and add items not previously codified.
Staff explained the changes reflect current park rules and specifically add prohibitions for bounce houses (inflatables) and staking tents or similar shade structures. Jaime McCabe moved to approve amendments to Chapter 12 on first reading; Bill Powell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. As a first reading, the amendments will return for a subsequent vote before becoming final ordinance language.
The minutes do not include enforcement details or an effective date; staff and the council will need to follow formal ordinance adoption procedures before the new prohibitions take effect.
