Bertram staff report progress on elevated storage tank, transmission-main work and monthly utilities activity

City engineering consultant Gary told the council that the elevated storage tank contractor is on-site at the wastewater-treatment-plant site and the contractor was preparing foundation work for the tank; he said crews have roughly 500 feet of pipe left to lay on the transmission main and that testing and submittal review are underway. Gary added the team will coordinate testing and start-up soon and offered to provide video updates when the tank is raised.
Adam, reporting for the utility department, said crews addressed six water leaks during the month, completed approximately 125 work orders and pumped about 13,900,000 gallons of water. He reported repairs to roughly 87 water services and two sewer services and said paving and final cleanup in a village project were recently completed. Council members asked about storage and the feasibility of adding storage for outlying new developments; staff said storage was not included in the San Gabriel memo and that storage considerations would be added if council wished to require them for remote proposals.
Council asked staff to update application forms to capture more project details for large developments so the city can better evaluate infrastructure impacts earlier in the permitting process.
